Join in the Fun & Make a Difference
Get wet, get dirty, get in the river while helping clean trash from the Great Miami River and its banks!
Date/Time & Location
Join the annual Clean Sweep of the Great Miami River on Saturday, July 27, 2013 beginning at 8:00 a.m. with a snack, safety orientation, and canoe briefing at the DeGraff Lions Park on Pleasant Street.
The rain date in case the river is not navigable is August 3, 2013.
Schedule
Teams set out by 8:15 a.m. in vehicles to specific locations along the river to canoe and clean the banks of the river on two to four mile sections, loading trash and debris into the canoes. Some sections require walking in the shallow water while pulling the canoe.
Because the sections are limited in length, most groups are finished and back at the gathering place by noon getting cleaned up and ready for lunch.
Lunch & a T-Shirt Included
A great lunch is served in the park in DeGraf where all participants receive a colorful T-shirt.
We Provide
We provide canoes, paddles, life jackets, water, food, and safety equipment.
