Ashley Wilson Awarded SWD Scholarship

Ashley Wilson 2014 Scholarship Recipient from SWDAshley Wilson, daughter of Matthew and Shawndel Wilson, was selected from many fine applicants to receive the 2014 Logan County Solid Waste District Scholarship.  This grant will provide $2,000 each year for a four year undergraduate degree at the college of her choice.  Ashley, a graduate of Benjamin Logan High School, has chosen to attend Wilmington College in Wilmington, Ohio.  The College is noted for several distinctive disciplines and one of those is agricultural business.  Ashley intends to pursue a degree in that field, building on her extensive knowledge and experience in the operation of a modern farm.  Ashley is the 6th generation in her family to operate Golden Dawn Farms in East Liberty, Ohio.  While at Benjamin Logan she participated in FFA as the Secretary for the past two years and has been a longtime participant in 4H projects and initiatives, including shooting, cooking, and genealogy.  While at Wilmington College Ashley plans to participate in the Aggies Club, and agricultural group, continue at the collegiate level of 4H and be involved in community service projects through a College program called WISE.  Congratulations Ashley and we wish you every success as you pursue higher education.
