Jarred Campbell, graduating from Benjamin Logan High School, was awarded the Logan County Solid Waste District annual scholarship at a ceremony May 11. Jared is the son of Chip and Susan Campbell and he plans to attend the University of Cincinnati to study engineering. In the essay Jared submitted with his scholarship application he recounts who he has been a part of his family’s recycling lifestyle since he was a small child. He hopes to utilize the engineering education to promote renewable energy projects for small towns and rural communities. Jared has prepared for college by taking many advanced courses in math and science. He has also been involved with student government, key club, cross country and track.
The Logan County Solid Waste District scholarship is intended to provide strong support for a Logan County youth with a promising educational future and goals focused on improving the environment. The scholarship is an annual grant of $2,000 renewable for all four years of undergraduate study. Jared was selected through a competitive application process by the Logan County Educational Foundation. The scholarship award was made by Logan County Commissioner Tony Core. Congratulations Jarred, we all wish you well for the future.
