Kim Wilson Davis Opens New Recycling Center at Ohio Hi-Point

Kim Wilson Davis, Superintendent of the Ohio Hi-Point Joint Vocational School officially opened the 11th Logan County Recycling Center.  The Center is located on school property known as Campbell Hill, the highest point in Ohio.  This recycling center, like the previous ten is a full service drop-off recycling facility where residents can drop-off cardboard, paper, household containers of glass, plastics #1 & #2, aluminum, and steel.  The facility also has containers for film shopping bags, household batteries, and features pay-as-you-throw trash service.  A vending machine on the site sells PAYT green trash bags used to dispose of trash in the specially marked containers.  This site also has three lower containers for citizens with special needs, whether they are wheel-chair bound, or just can’t reach the larger container doors with their recyclables.  The center is fully equipped with cameras for 24/7 surveillance of all activities.

At the opening Kim Wilson Davis commented that Ohio Hi-Point was pleased to partner with the Logan County Solid Waste Management District to provide the land upon which to build this facility as a service to the community.  The Board of Education believes this facility is a good use of the public land in its trust.  Pictured at the ribbon cutting are John Bayliss, County Commissioner, Robert Walker, Facility Manager at Ohio-Hi Point Career Center, Kim Wilson Davis, Alan Hale, Coordinator of the Solid Waste District, and Tony Core, County Commissioner.
