CHaRM opens for the 2009 season!
May 7, 2009 on 8:09 pm | In CHaRM | No CommentsThe Solid Waste District opened its CHaRM facility (Center for Hard to Recycle Materials) on Earth Day, April 22, 2009 for the summer season of collecting Hard to Recycle
Materials and items that are hard to dispose of properly. CHaRM is open Wednesday afternoons from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday mornings between 9:00 a.m. and noon. The facility features a drive-thru where items can easily be unloaded and weighed if necessary. The drive-thru feauture allows operations in any kind of weather spring, summer, and fall. Now appointments necessary, read the flyer or gather information on this website about what materials are accepted and drive in during open hours. All materials are carefully recycled where possible through processes that reduce the material to its basic chemical and physical components according to strict standards. Fees charged are just enough to cover the expense of moving the materials into the proper recycling or demanufacturing channels.
