Logan County completes Great American Cleanup by cleaning 4.5 Tons of trash from roadways and 69 scrap tires.

Exchange Club cleans upHundreds of volunteers cleaned up Logan County roadways as part of the Great American Clean-up. Sponsored in Logan County by the Logan County Solid Waste Management District, volunteers from kids to the elderly pitched in to be part of the Great Logan County Road Cleanup during April and May, 2008. These volunteers picked up 816 bags of trash weighing 8,976 pounds, along with 69 scrap tires, covering 56 miles of county roads. Thanks to the many hands who contributed to this effort. As part of the group effort two teams were selected for an additional reward - beyond seeing the results of the handiwork - a pizza party. Cub Scout Pack 316 of Pickerltown,Exchange Club picks up with 10 Cubs, led by Chris Schultz is a winner. The second winning group is Girl Scout Troop 20568 of West Liberty, with 14 Scouts participating, led by Keri Thomas. Congratulations to these teams and thanks to all of the other teams, especially the businesses and companies that fielded teams.
