Moundwood Recycling Center Slated for Earthday Opening

March 25, 2008 on 6:40 pm | In Logan County, Pay-As-You-Throw, Recycle, Solid Waste District |

The Moundwood Recycling Drop-off Center is being prepared for opening on Earth Day 2008, April 22. Moundwood will be the second full time drop-off recycling center opened in the Indian Lake area by the Logan County Solid Waste Management District. Photos show installation of underground electric service and poles being set to hold lighting and security cameras. This Recycling Center will operate in the same manner as the Lakeview Center, open at all times, self-service recycling of cardboard, paper products, glass bottles, plastic bottles and containers, household batteries, along with tin, steel, and aluminum cans. The site will also accept trash in Pay-As-You-Throw (PAYT) bags purchased at the site from a vending machine or from Tinsley’s IGA.

This project is a joint venture between the Indian Lake State Park, the Solid Waste Management District and the Logan County Commissioners. The opening of this site will continue the District effort to make recycling convenient, inexpensive, accessible, and relatively easy to handle moving the recycled materials to processors and eventually to end users who create new materials from the old.
